Project Description

While allowing new or intermediate sailors to really enjoy the performance and speed of sailing a catamaran, sailing school boats need to be tough enough to be sailed regularly over a number of seasons as well as being able to be sailed in a range of wind conditions. They need to be comfortable yet nimble, and show speed with safety in mind. The NACRA 570 School takes these compromises in mind yet we believe delivers as much on the fun and quick side as well as being sturdy.

Using durable, Dacron sails this craft can be reefed for bigger winds on a regular basis without its sails losing shape or performance. Her large, buoyant hulls are designed to minimise the chances of pitch poling, while it’s boom-less main and jib blocks attached to the front beam makes for a comfortable but exciting experience.

This skeg hulled boat is designed to give your trainees a taste of the speed potential of larger cats. Sporting a decent sail area and twin trapezes, those sailing this boat can do some RYA intermediate level courses as they advance through their sailing careers, while those looking for the cruising side of the RYA syllabus can feel the solidity of a good all rounder sailing cat. The skeg hulls and kick up rudder system make for ease of launching and recovery.
